Bernd Siegmund: Farewell to a visionary entrepreneur

It is with deep sadness that we announce that Bernd Siegmund, founder and owner of Bernd Siegmund GmbH, passed away unexpectedly on December 4, 2024 at the age of 68. His sudden death fills us with great sadness and leaves a painful gap in our company and far beyond.

We bid farewell to a successful and visionary managing director who, through his dedication and innovative spirit, laid the foundation for Bernd Siegmund GmbH and was responsible for its development into the global market leader in welding tables and clamping systems. With his passion for innovation, technical expertise, and exceptional entrepreneurial drive, he not only transformed his company but also the way countless customers work.

Bernd Siegmund began the journey of what is now such a successful company in the early 1980s. He was heavily involved in the automotive industry and quickly recognized a significant need for equipment, machinery, and transport systems that could make work more efficient and of higher quality. As a graduate engineer, he developed, built, optimized, and sold these systems himself. In 1997, Bernd Siegmund specialized in welding and clamping table systems. Among many other visionary decisions, this was perhaps the best one, as it laid the foundation for the success story of Bernd Siegmund GmbH, which is now the undisputed world market leader in this field and sells its modular precision products in over 60 countries.

However, Bernd Siegmund was not only an outstanding entrepreneur and visionary but also a man with a great heart for social and sporting causes. In recent years, sports partnerships became an important part of his company’s communication strategy. He nurtured these partnerships with joy and enthusiasm. Collaborations with FC Bayern Basketball, FC Augsburg, Augsburg Panthers, BG Hessing Leitershofen, and other regional sports clubs meant a great deal to him. His support was always more than financial help – it was a reflection of his belief that sport connects and inspires people.

His son, Daniel Siegmund, has now taken over the role of managing director and will continue to lead the company – with new ideas, but in the spirit of his father and with a workforce that stands united behind the company and the Siegmund family. The leadership style, rooted in respect, trust, and humanity, will continue to serve as an inspiring example.
